A disturbed day

Today Katya was very disturbed. And there was a good reason for this beign the case.

Tooth number three arrived!!!

This one completes the lower two front teeth. I suspect the side one is a random.

Hopefully we get a small break from teeth now that this new one is out.

Katya normally turns blank when she sees a camera. But here she has her snail so she is very happy.

Some firsts for today

In the last 24 hours Katya got two teeth. They are difficult to see but I (and my finger) can assure you they are there.



We also tried solids. She ate them up no problems. Finished the lot. She was actually holding the spoon and putting it to her mouth before we made up the baby rice.

Katya has got two teeth in the last day. Actually one is a front tooth and the other is a side tooth. But two in the space of a day is a pretty good effort.

Listening to the beliefs of Emerging Churches

I have recently finished a very interesting book. Listening to the Beliefs of Emerging Churches is both interesting for its content and for its approach.

First the approach. The approach is to take five pastors from a broad spectrum of Emerging Churches and ask them to write about theology. Each paper is then critiqued by the remaining four writers. This is a very engaging style in that really allows you to compare the differing approaches and identify the differences.

The content is interesting as the five pastors are very successful in building strong vibrant jesus following communities. But some of them are poles apart in their theology and their method. In fact some don't even agree on what theology is.

Academically it is a fascinating book. Ironically, it is of little use in being and growing as a Jesus follower. It is ironic as this is the most important priority of all these pastors.

Anyway, aside from that, well worth a read if you are interested in the emerging church or church development.

A cool new toy

Katya has a new toy from the toy library that plays sounds when she kicks it. She loves kicking so loves the new toy.

We haven't put any photos up for a while so here is a big batch of them.

Katya is growing well. She is now smiling, giggling and speaking (we just don't understand her much to her frustration).

The reflux is all but gone and we are starting to play with some solids.
