Hallelujah!!!

Katya's IV line came out really easily and no bleeding all over me. And I did not faint even though there was a lumbar puncture test being done in the bed next to us.

Also, Katya's blood work has come back perfectly. This means there is a very low probability of any residual infection.

Now we start the 4-6 weeks of oral antibiotics. BUT she can now play in the sand pit, with slops and go to the beach and swimming, which is high on the agenda.

To be honest it feels like an enormous weight off my shoulders.

A classic example of bureaucratic idiocy. Every way you look at this ACC have been gumbies. They should have at least put someone up who was presentable to respond. And better still, sort the issue out ASAP.

Out in the sun

While the WCC chopped down the trees near our house, Larissa enjoyed some sun time. A nice day.

Katya goes to Kindy

This is what is called looking the part

What is this?

This is a pear. Looks good?

Actually it is a pear imported from China. Yes New Zealand imports pears from China.

Maybe it is my childhood of growing up in Hawkes Bay (the fruitbowl of NZ). Maybe it is my travels in CHina and seeing the appalling water quality. Maybe it is my tasting of Chinese fruit that looks perfect but is nothing but water. BUT this too me seems silly.

I have actually thrown the whole lot out as I could not bring myself to risk feeding it to my kids or anyone I knew. And after tasting a very small amount, it was the right decision. Simply awful. No taste.
